🚨🐶🐱 DRY PET FOOD RECALL – MYCOTOXIN ALERT 🚨
RCL FOODS has issued a recall on selected dry pet foods due to elevated Deoxynivalenol (DON) levels.
💡 What is DON?
Deoxynivalenol (DON) is a naturally occurring mycotoxin that can grow on grains like maize 🌾.

If your pet food was produced on the dates above, return it to your retailer for a refund or replacement.

🔶 MYCOTOXIN ALERT FOR PET OWNERS 🔶
Mycotoxin poisoning can affect pets quickly and severely. These toxins are produced by mold found in spoiled food and sometimes contaminated pet food. Knowing the signs could save your pet’s life.
🐾 COMMON SYMPTOMS OF MYCOTOXIN POISONING
🟠 Gastrointestinal:
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Loss of appetite
🟣 Neurological:
• Tremors
• Seizures
• Weakness
• Incoordination
🔵 Respiratory:
• Coughing
• Sneezing
• Difficulty breathing
🟢 General:
• Lethargy
• Fatigue
• Weight loss
🟡 Other Possible Signs:
• Skin irritation
• Excessive salivation
• Increased thirst & urination
• Jaundice (yellowing of eyes/skin — possible liver damage)
🚨 What to Do If You Suspect Exposure
1️⃣ Contact a veterinarian immediately.
Mycotoxins can act fast. Tremors, seizures, or severe vomiting require urgent care.
2️⃣ Gather information.
Take a photo of any suspicious food or vomit/stool.
If pet food is involved, note the brand and lot number.
3️⃣ Identify the source.
Mycotoxins are commonly found in:
• Moldy food (bread, nuts, dairy, leftovers)
• Spoiled trash
• Contaminated commercial pet food
4️⃣ Prevention is key.
• Keep pets away from moldy or spoiled food
• Secure trash cans
• Store pet food properly and check for recall notices
