Yoni Balm was born through the stories of women.

Over time, I saw how many different bodies, phases, and journeys this balm could hold:

✨ For the woman healing after birth, feeling tender, open, and raw.
✨ For the woman entering menopause, navigating dryness, thinning skin, and changing hormones.
✨ For the woman with chronic thrush or irritation, needing calm and support for her microbiome.
✨ For the everyday woman who simply wants to care for her yoni with softness and reverence.

Yoni Balm is for you if you want to feel nourished, moisturised, and at home in your body again.
It supports your body without disturbing her rhythms — no perfumes, no harsh preservatives, just what she recognises.

Crafted from whole, honest botanicals, it is safe to use every day or as needed. It is a balm that respects the wisdom of your body.

💌 Whether you’re in your 20s or your 70s — your yoni deserves sacred care.
Is this balm for you?

Did You Know? ⚡
Those sudden, strange electric shock sensations under your skin — like tiny zaps or jolts — are a real and surprisingly common symptom of perimenopause.

Many women describe them as fleeting but intense — as if your nerves are firing unexpectedly. They can even show up just before a hot flush. 🔥

🌸 Here’s what’s happening in your body:
Estrogen supports healthy nerve conduction, regulates neurotransmitters like serotonin, and protects the myelin sheath — the insulation around your nerves.
As estrogen levels begin to fluctuate in perimenopause, nerve signals can become irregular or hypersensitive — leading to those “zap-like” sensations.

Described across medical writing and patient anecdotes, “body zaps” or electric shocks under the skin are increasingly reported during perimenopause. One survey found that 94% of women were unaware of this symptom until they experienced it themselves.

💡 You’re not imagining this. It’s a physiological response to hormonal shifts — and it deserves understanding and support.

🌿 In consultation with me, we’ll explore your unique experience — from nervous system regulation to hormonal care using functional, plant-based, or bioidentical options. I walk with you through this transition in a way that’s informed, grounded, and woman-centered.

Dry, burning, gritty eyes? Needing sunglasses even on overcast days? 🕶️
This might not just be allergies or screen time fatigue — it could be your hormones.

Estrogen plays a vital role in your eye health.
It helps your lacrimal glands make tears and supports the meibomian glands, which keep your tear film stable and protective. When estrogen dips in perimenopause, your tears evaporate faster — leaving your eyes dry, uncomfortable, and overly sensitive to light and glare.

Most women don’t realize that dry eyes can be an early sign of perimenopause.
Your body is whispering. Let’s listen with care and respond wisely.

One of my greatest joys is growing and working with the herbs that go into Yoni Balm.

I’ve spent hours with my hands in the soil — planting, harvesting, and sitting with the herbs as they dry in quiet reverence.

I love watching the way the oils deepen in colour as they solar infuse. By day, I place them in the sun — where the warmth gently draws the essence of calendula, marshmallow, and comfrey into the golden flow of oil. By night, I bring them inside — moving them with care, letting them rest.

It’s like a rhythm — a slow dance between plant and oil, sun and shadow, body and spirit.

Every ingredient in this balm was carefully chosen:
✨ Calendula for cellular healing and inflammation as well as Sunlight energy and Joy
✨ Marshmallow for softening and soothing delicate tissues with its Deep Earthy resonance
✨ Shea and mafura butters for their deep, restorative nourishment and traditional African healing

I bring together science, herbal tradition, and sacred intention in this formulation — a blend of clinical evidence and ancestral knowing.

Each jar is a thread in a much older story — a balm made to remember the beauty of caring for our most tender places with wisdom, softness, and respect.

Available at Faithful to Nature and other health shops around the country. Inquiries to retail please email.

As I began offering Yoni Balm to women in my circles and practice, I was deeply moved by the response.

The balm was doing exactly what I had hoped — and more. It was genuinely helping women find comfort, healing, and relief from symptoms that had been troubling them for years, often in silence.

I remember one of the first messages I received:
A woman in her 50s or 60s, post-chemotherapy, who was otherwise well. The treatment had left her yoni dry, inflamed, and vulnerable to recurrent infections and irritation that just wouldn’t resolve.

She began using the balm regularly — gently, and consistently — and over a short time, her tissues began to repair. The skin restored its natural vitality and softness. The cycle of inflammation and yeast infections broke.

That was my intention: not just to soothe, but to restore the skin’s natural integrity and resilience — and to support the body’s own healing.

Our own body's exquisite natural design.

This story became one of many.

I started holding workshops to teach women how to create their own balms — guiding them to blend herbs for their unique needs. The response was beautiful, powerful, and so diverse.

Women connected not only to their physical healing, but to a deeper remembrance of their sacred body. - and the healing was profound.

✨ Yoni Balm became more than a product. It became a bridge — back to self-trust, body-wisdom, and embodied healing.

My love for herbals, healing, and women came together in the creation of Yoni Balm — a product I first crafted in 2019.

It began with my hands in the soil: planting, growing, and harvesting calendula, comfrey, and other healing flowers and leaves. I slowly infused them in oils using the sun’s warmth, letting time and presence guide the process.

I sought out the most beautiful, rich, antioxidant butters — Shea and Mafura — chosen for their deep ability to nourish our sensitive vaginal mucosa and l***a. As well as their local presence in Africa soil.

Through years of working so intimately with these plants, I came to recognise a sacred connection: that when a herb is touched with love, reverence, and intention, this carries through into the finished balm.

Inspired by what I learnt from The Field (Lynne McTaggart), and my own experience with consciousness and creation through Bhakti Yoga, I began to see that my state of heart, my inner prayers, and the atmosphere around me shaped the balm as much as the ingredients.

✨ This is more than a balm. It is a medicine. A ritual. A reconnection.

And beautifully healing for our body's needs.

Menopause is a sacred, complex transition and I want to share my journey and reflections with you…

Dear Ladies, a Letter from My Heart

A Pattern in My Life

I have noticed a pattern in my life. I have witnessed so many times how my style is to feel passionate about something. (In the last 20 years this has been largely women's health.) I navigate it to threads—I research it, question it, double question it, critique it, sometimes test it, or apply it in my work. I copy it, even tutor it—or get tutored on it—from kind of every angle, mostly scientifically.

I want to understand how it works. I want to visualize how it works. I want to evaluate it according to my criteria for health which includes do no harm, not having to take other meds for side effects, basic safety concerns, and what happens if nothing is done.

Most importantly—and I feel in the same manner—I want to understand the natural, phytochemical, nutritional, and alternative modes of understanding and approaching this diagnosis.

The Feeling of Still Searching

Once I have untangled this in its utmost, I stand back—largely unimpressed, unsatisfied, and with the feeling like I am still searching and that this answer or package or largely the approach has left me wanting.

I recognize this feeling from the first time I dropped out of medical school at 19 and joined a Vedic ashram searching for spiritual truths and the highest source of healing.

My Journey Through Medicine and Healing

After completing my community service and internship, I apprenticed with my homebirth midwife to learn the art of sacred birthkeeping, questioning the model we had learned and trained in.

In my private consulting work, I remember in 2018 I was let go from a lovely holistic practice because I was not “enough” of a general practitioner, and had a passion for women’s health—which, in his words, was too much of a niche. This pushed me deeper into healing circles, red tents, and self-care, deeply connecting with the womb and rediscovering womb wisdom.

Again, diving back into corporate medicine in 2024—prescribing, labs, and pharma networks—I honed my skills in a high-paced, better-paid setting.
I delved deeper into my business, updating courses and devouring information about menopause, bioidenticals, hormones, symptoms, and training.

Questioning and Alignment

And once again I started questioning—the rationale, safety, different women, health patterns, and myself—using bioidenticals, not using them, reflecting.
It’s like a little thread you scratch that unravels, revealing something deeper. That thread demanded attention, but the feeling I got was alignment.
My work forces me to be genuine, reflective, and in integrity with life and love.

Medicine’s Role in Our Journey

I have a sharp eye for medicine’s role in women’s journeys—often disconnecting us from who we are and making us dependent on external systems. But I also deeply respect where medicine serves. I believe in a dual, integrative approach because we are all unique.

The greatest gift a healing practitioner can share is guiding women to lead their own healing—to make their own choices and be active participants.

My Truth About Menopause

So here I am today—hearing the sacredness in stopping, listening to menopause’s messages, shifting through who I want to be now and for the rest of my life.
I feel a sigh of relief. I feel safe and held. I can work from a space of deep trust and connection.

I do NOT want to take anything just to feel different, keep up, or look different.
This is my sacred truth.

Sacred Connection and Service

I am learning to use botanicals, bioidenticals, and supplements to support my truth and service. But my work comes from the strength of my inner connection with my Divine Self.

So I come back to sacred connection, the pause, the resetting, and deep honoring of myself.

An Invitation to You

These are my words now. They will not be the same for everyone, and I welcome you to find your own place aligned with your healing.

My work is to serve women, not decide for them.

I offer deep consultation around your symptoms, with approaches and pathways you make your own, supported by me through follow-up to feel into where and how you want to be in life right now.

Shed blame, dependence, excuses, and deepen into our love work—re-meeting ourselves—in JOY.

If you are navigating menopause or any health concern at any stage of life and want to explore your path with support, I invite you to connect with me.

Together, we will create your unique journey of healing and empowerment.

With love and respect,
Dr Gauri Lowe

🌿 Botanical Mondays — Motherwort

Leonurus cardiaca | Brave Lion-Hearted Herb

Today I’m honouring one of my all-time favourite women’s herbs: Motherwort. 🌾 She is a beautiful, bold, and deeply supportive plant ally for women—especially mothers, but really, for all of us as we move through life’s many transitions.

I first met Motherwort on a farm in Pennsylvania, growing wild and strong like a w**d. She was thorny, tall, and untamed… yet so soft in presence. Something about her felt like an ancient midwife standing guard. That encounter was profound for me—Motherwort came into my life when I was deepening into my path of serving women, and she’s stayed close ever since. I made a lot of medicine from her and continue to use her in my formulas and single medicine too.

Motherwort carries the energy of a brave mother’s heart. Her Latin name, Leonurus cardiaca, literally means “lion-hearted,” and this is exactly how she feels—protective, powerful, and calming.

🩸 Womb + Blood Support
She’s a uterine tonic—helping tone and circulate blood through the womb. Useful for:

Heavy bleeding or clotting

Regulating menstruation

Postpartum cramps and bleeding

Yoni steaming for bleeding and recovery

💓 Heart + Nervous System
She’s incredibly soothing for the nervous system:

Calms racing heart and palpitations

Helps with anxiety and emotional overwhelm

Eases sleep and settles an overactive mind

🫖 How to Use Her

As a tincture or infusion (tea)—bitter but deeply grounding

In a yoni steam blend to support regular cycles, postpartum healing, and general womb wellness

Also supports digestion through her bitter qualities

🌿 You’ll know her by her jagged leaves and purple-pinkish flowers. She grows hardy—often where you least expect her—but always with presence. She’s wild, thorny, soft, and deeply resilient. Just like us.

Here’s to Motherwort. May we all have her lion-hearted strength, softness, and capacity to hold.

If you wish to know which herbs are best for you or your concerns - dm me and lets chat.

With love,
Dr. Gauri 🧡

✨ Botanical Medicine Monday ✨

This week, I’m sharing 3 of my favourite nervine herbs — our plant allies that gently calm the nervous system, quiet the mind, and soften the heart.

🌿 Lemon Balm – Uplifting and soothing, especially for the sensitive heart. Lovely as a tea or infused water. (see more from last Monday)
🌸 Passionflower – Beautiful support for the overactive mind, helps soften tension and prepare for deep rest.
🌹 Rose – Tender, sovereign medicine for emotional healing and remembrance of your inner joy and beauty.

These herbs are perfect for:
🫖 Sleep support
🫀 Calming anxiety
💛 Easing transitions like new motherhood or perimenopause
🕯️ Deepening meditation or circle work

I often blend them with St. John’s Wort, and some of my own wildcrafted Himalayan Rose and Red Clover—especially for hormone support and menopausal shifts.

✨ Herbal medicine isn’t just about symptoms—it’s about how you want to feel. These plants meet you with frequency, wisdom and love.

🌸 with Dr. Gauri 🌸
Let’s answer your questions, share stories, and reclaim women’s health with sovereign awareness + conscious integrity.

This week’s Q:
💊 “What are plant sterols and should I worry about them in HRT?”

🟢 Short answer:
No need to worry — plant sterols are not dangerous for most women. In fact, they’re the starting point for many bioidentical hormones.

🌿 What are plant sterols?
They’re natural compounds found in:
🥬 greens • 🥜 nuts • 🌽 oils • 🍠 wild yam & soy
They’re similar to cholesterol and support heart + hormone health.

🧬 In HRT?
Sterols are used to create hormones like estradiol + progesterone in labs.
By the end, it’s no longer soy or yam — it’s a hormone identical to what your body makes.

🙋🏽‍♀️ Worried about soy?
✅ Most women using HRT (transdermal/oral/compounded) do not need to worry.
✅ Even if you’re plant-based or soy-sensitive, there are no soy proteins left in the final hormone.

💡 Bonus: Plant sterols may help lower cholesterol + support hormone balance nutritionally.

⚠️ When to be cautious:
🚫 True soy or wild yam allergy (not just sensitivity)
🚫 If your HRT contains soy fillers or binders
🚫 Taking high-dose plant sterol supplements + HRT — check with your doctor

📝 Labels often show if soy-derived ingredients are used. When in doubt, ask.

👩🏽‍⚕️ Bottom line:
🌿 Plant sterols help make clean, gentle, bioidentical hormones
⚖️ They’re no longer “plant” — they’re your body’s own language of estrogen or progesterone

📩 Every Friday I’ll be answering your real questions + sharing real stories
DM me your Qs, let’s talk about what really matters:
Hormones • Health • Power • Softness • Seasons • Sovereignty 💓
