Melanie Schoeman Naude, Audiologist, represented the South African Cochlear Implant Group alongside Dr. Louis Hofmeyr, an ENT specialist, at a pediatricians conference in Port Elizabeth. Dr. Hofmeyr underscored the significance of newborn hearing screenings and timely referrals for hearing assessments to the audience. Early detection of substantial hearing loss will facilitate early implantation and yield better outcomes for speech, language, and cognitive development. 🌟 Community Outreach at Algoa Park ACVV Centre 🌟

This week, our Summerstrand practice had the privilege of visiting the ACVV Centre in Algoa Park for a special community outreach. We spent the day sharing valuable information about hearing health and hearing loss, and conducted hearing screening tests for the community.

It was a rewarding opportunity to raise awareness, offer support, and empower individuals with knowledge about their hearing.

A big thank you to the staff at the ACVV Centre and to everyone who took part — your warm welcome and participation made the day so meaningful.

This brother and sister duo visited our Summerstrand practice for hearing assessments with Audiologist Anri van Onselen today. Hearing tests are pain free and the results are available immediately. Even mom went into the sound booth during the tests😀. Photos shared with consent.
