Heart for Alternatives Pregnancy Crisis Center offers free pregnancy testing, confidential counselling, and crisis pregnancy support to women of all races and religions — both in person and over the phone.

Walk-in: Wednesdays & Thursdays, 1:00–3:30 PM
Corner of 9th Avenue & Villiers Road, Walmer, Port Elizabeth

💙 WHAT WE DO
We help wo

men make informed decisions about their pregnancy options. Our services include:
* Pre- & post-abortion counselling
* Referrals to social workers for adoption or foster care
* Community education & awareness programs
* Volunteer training

Every new mom who came to us for a pregnancy test receives a baby parcel before delivery — with nappies, baby clothing, blankets, and toiletries for mom.

🙋 ABOUT US & VOLUNTEERING
The center is led by Sue Pietersen, who manages daily activities and volunteer training. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and can serve in areas where they feel most comfortable — from counselling and admin to outreach, donation collections, and packing parcels.

What a meaningful time on campus! 🤍

Students gathered around our baby models, amazed to see how big each little one is at different stages of gestation. The curiosity, the questions, and the conversations were so encouraging.

We experienced such friendliness and enthusiasm, and had many heartfelt discussions about pregnancy awareness, s*x education, and the importance of loving and valuing ourselves. These moments matter — education empowers, and honest conversations make a difference.

In honour of Pregnancy Awareness Month this February, we delivered special gift bags to moms at the 14th Avenue and GQ clinics. 🤍

It was incredibly heartwarming to bump into some of our own clients in the corridors — their smiles and warm greetings meant so much to us! We’re deeply grateful for the kindness and hospitality from the clinic staff, who work tirelessly every day to provide essential care and support to pregnant moms and the wider community.
