It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beautiful boss and founder, Ann van der Merwe, who passed away peacefully at 16:05 on 28 March.

Ann was the heart and soul of our home. Her kindness, compassion, and dedication to each and every resident will always be remembered and cherished.

Our thoughts are with her family during this incredibly difficult time. We will continue to care for your loved ones with the same love and commitment that she always showed.

41 years ago, two nurses worked side by side in Provincial ICU. 💙

Today, by pure chance, they found themselves holding hands again — this time while booking in, one already a resident and the other soon to be.

Life has the most beautiful way of bringing people back together. ✨

All our residents and carers shared plenty of smiles (and a few sprinkles!) as we decorated cookies together for an early Valentine’s Day 💕

There was laughter, creativity, and lots of sweet treats to enjoy. It’s often the simplest activities that bring the greatest joy — and create the most treasured memories. 💗🍪

Home away from home 🏡💖
At our centre, we believe that moving in doesn’t mean leaving you behind. We encourage families to bring along our residents’ favourite and meaningful items — the things that make them feel comfortable, confident, and themselves.

For some, that’s their makeup. Many of our residents have always taken pride in how they look, and that shouldn’t change with age.

It’s the little moments — a touch of lipstick, a familiar necklace — that help our residents feel special, dignified, and deeply loved. 💗
