Perfectionism will stunt your progress at every step of your journey…
And ACTION will propel you forward.
But perfectionism is sneaky, and it creeps up on you.
Be careful if you find yourself…
👉 Holding yourself back from posting that picture because what if people criticise you,
👉 Refraining from starting your health-focused weight loss journey because you haven’t created the “perfect” healthy meal plan for the week yet,
👉 Stopping yourself from hiring that nutrition coach because you either feel like you’re not at the stage you want to be yet or you want to lose some weight first before investing,
👉 Spending HOURS on meal prepping something that cost you an arm and a leg because that’s what it takes to be perfect in your mind,
👉 Overanalyzing what you did wrong that made you not lose the perfect amount of weight that was your goal for the week,
👉 Not accepting an invitation for a date/ event because you want to look perfect at your goal weight first,
👉 Judging yourself because you don’t think you’re “good enough” just as you are (because your idea of beauty has a weight restriction).
The truth is perfectionism is a protection mechanism.
It delays you from taking REAL action in your journey.
It has hurt me. And I’ve seen it hurt clients whom are just beginning their journey to those whom have made a significant amount of progress already.
Remember that progress and the act of just getting stuff done and making it good enough will take your journey to the next level.
Not making things perfect.
Perfectionism can influence your decisions and create stagnation whether you’re just beginning or nearing your goal.
It’s going to take courage again and again to make that move without feeling ready… without feeling like things are perfectly in place.
But that’s GROWTH.
And if you want to be at that next stage in your journey, it’s going to require courage every single day.
Perfectionism leads to procrastination.
Courage to feel messy and do it anyway leads to unending growth.
