✅ The Right to Breastfeed Anywhere – No mother should face discrimination or stigma for feeding her baby in public.
✅ The Right to Workplace Support – Employers must provide breastfeeding-friendly environments, including paid breaks and private spaces.
✅ The Right to Accurate Information – Families deserve access to evidence-based guidance, free from commercial influence.
✅ The Right to Donate & Receive Breastmilk – Every baby, especially those in need, should have access to life-saving donor milk.

Access to resources is vital for successful breastfeeding. South Africa has numerous support networks, such as SACLC, IBCLC, the South African Breastmilk Reserve (SABR) and La Leche League South Africa. Studies have shown that breastfeeding education and peer support improve breastfeeding initiation and duration rates (Rollins et al., The Lancet, 2016). Whether you are going back to work, little baby is in NICU or planning a well-deserved evening out, you will need to express milk for baby to drink as well as to keep your milk supply going.
