Famsa Potchefstroom completed another Parenting skills group at Hope of Glory Day Care.

Knowledge of how to parent well but also be a role model for children is how we change individuals, then groups and then a community.

We had the honour of presenting to the learners of High School Parys with the focus on managing stress but also where to find support!

Teenagers are often misunderstood and therefor need more encouragement and more resources to deal with their inner struggles whilst going through so many expectations from the outside world!

Thank you to the school for wanting the best for your learners!

FAMSA Potchefstroom would like to say thank you to Miss Phenyou Sebetlele, a Miss North West Finalist 2025, who donated journals and coloring books on 28/07/2025 that can be used in therapy for clients that are dealing with difficult life challenges like Domestic Violence and Teen Parenting.

We appreciate these books and will utilize them effectively to the best interest of our clients.

Famsa Potchefstroom celebrated Child protection week by visiting a few schools and empowering learners with skills to make good choices and to become aware of the consequences to different behaviors. Also to identify and positively manage emotions on especially triggering situations.

The Teachers also attended to become aware of how to support learners in terms of the skills provided.

Our youth need to be able to learn early on about the necessary life skills to prevent unhealthy cycles from repeating!

15 May 2025 is celebrated as International day for Families. FAMSA Potchefstroom had the opportunity to present at the SASSA Potchefstroom Branch on 29/05/2025 regarding Healthy Parenting that includes the roles of the father and mother, discipline, how to create a loving environment and also how support in the community can be utilize to break the cycle of unhealthy family dynamics.

We are grateful for organizations that give us the opportunity to educate community members and to be part of the solution!

FAMSA Potchefstroom would like to thank the South African Air Cadet Corps for their donation of toys to our organization. It enables us to provide therapy to our younger clients through play but also to provide toys to those who have none.
