Knock knees (genu valgum) is an incorrect alignment around the knee that can affect people of all ages. Over time, the imbalance of force it places on the knees can cause pain, joint damage and early onset knee arthritis. Knock knees can be caused by an underlying congenital or developmental disease or arise after an infection or a traumatic knee injury. Q-angles are used to determine the severity of the knock knees.

Studies have shown that the Q angle can be reduced by increasing the strength
of the hip abductor muscles. Corrective exercises significantly impacted genu valgum deformity and the proper alignment of the lower limbs and are an effective method to correct this deformity.

Cardiac rehabilitation programs are an essential part in the long-term recovery of patients who suffered from a cardiac episode.

Biokineticists are trained healthcare providers who can help a patient with the long-term rehabilitation process after a cardiac event or surgery.

The process of a cardiac rehabilitation program consists of the following:

1️⃣ An initial assessment of a patient’s functional capacity while monitoring heart rate, blood pressure, and ECG response to a predetermined sub-maximal exercise intensity.

2️⃣ during sessions the Biokineticist monitors your heart rate and blood pressure response before, during, and after exercise

3️⃣ the session will include resistance training, cardiovascular training, and stretching tailored specifically to the individual’s need and based on the outcomes of the initial assessment.

4️⃣ Re-assessments 2-3 times a year to update the exercise program prescription

Osteoporosis is caused by a decrease in bone density. This will result in your bones to become more fragile and loss of calcium and therefore, become brittle.

Risk factors of Osteoporosis:
- Aging 👨‍🦳
- Gender 👩‍🦰
- History of fractures 🦵
- Menopause 😰
- Genetics 🧬

Research highlights the effectiveness of specific exercises in enhancing bone mass and slowing the progression of osteoporosis.

Incorporating activities like
🏃🏼‍♀️walking,
🧘🏽‍♂️ weight-bearing exercises using your own body weight,

Physical activity (PA) enhances sleep outcomes across the lifespan as well as among individuals with sleep disorders. Strong evidence indicated that both acute bouts of PA and regular PA improved sleep outcomes.
