World Hearing Day… Not every child with a hearing loss belongs to a school for the D/deaf or hard of hearing. With the right support, many children do well in mainstream schools. At HMA part of intervention is appropriate placement in a school and providing support and education the school.

This Youth Month I’ve seen more Children and Youth. Primary School Age to University Students. Of course I’ll pair hearing aids with an external mic device when possible. Looking forward to seeing these little ones thrive. While I love working with all ages… there’s something close to my heart about kids because they have their whole lives ahead of them.

2 weeks follow up. 🦻🏾🦻🏾 Graph below is this clients hearing without amplification and graph above is their hearing with hearing aids. Speech reception was 70 and 100 in the right and left respectively and Speech discrimination went from 40% at 75 to 70% at 75 and 60% at 55 level in the right and went from 0% at 100 to 76% at 85 and 40% at 55. Golden words for today "Hluphi, thank you for restoring my confidence in using hearing aids and giving me hope". Looking forward to seeing them improve more and more.

Hearing Aid Technology Option for Individuals with conductive hearing loss. The "hearing organ" inside the ear is fully functional. The outer ear structures are abnormal, that being the cause of reduced hearing. This is very important for a little one that is still learning to speak.
