Job Description: Manager - Silwerkroon Centre, Eloffsdal, Pretoria
Position Summary
The Manager oversees daily operations of Silwerkroon Centre in Eloffsdal, Pretoria, ensuring resident wellbeing, regulatory compliance, and strong stakeholder relationships. A key focus is active engagement with the Department of Social Development (DSD) and the Housing Company of Tshwane (HCT).
Key Responsibilities
- Operations & Care Standards
- Manage day-to-day running of Silwerkroon Centre, including staffing, rosters, admissions, and resident care plans
- Ensure compliance with the Older Persons Act, DSD regulations, and health & safety standards
- Monitor quality of care, nutrition, medication management, and activities for residents
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise regularly with Department of Social Development on registrations, subsidies, inspections, and reporting
- Coordinate with Housing Company of Tshwane regarding facility maintenance, infrastructure, lease agreements, and accommodation compliance
- Represent Silwerkroon Centre in DSD audits, meetings, and community forums
- Staff & Financial Management
- Recruit, train, and supervise nursing, care, and support staff
- Manage budgets, petty cash, and financial reporting to board/DSD as required
- Ensure accurate record-keeping for residents, HR files, and DSD submissions
- Administration & Reporting
- Submit required DSD monthly/quarterly reports, incident reports, and subsidy applications on time
- Maintain updated resident files, care plans, and regulatory documentation
- Handle complaints, investigations, and implement corrective actions
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Compliance: 100% on-time submission of DSD reports and subsidy claims. Zero major findings in DSD/HCT audits
- Occupancy & Care: Maintain 90%+ bed occupancy with documented care plans updated quarterly for all residents
- Stakeholder Relations: Attend 100% of scheduled DSD/HCT meetings. Resolve facility maintenance issues within 14 days
- Finance: Manage operational budget with variance ≤5%. Petty cash reconciled monthly
- Staff & Quality: Staff turnover
