Amazing news from the Dr.
PJ is looking healthy and in good shape. He gave us the "all is clear" and PJ will continue with his 6 months interval visits.

Thank you for your prayers and faith.

We are so exciting, it is like a mountain is lifted off our shoulders (even though it's just for 6 month)

PJ we are so so proud of you. In all of this you remain the amazing human that you are with so much love and compassion for others. You are our shining star.

A big thank you to your wife Lourika Opperman , your parents Annelie Papenfus Opperman and Hendrik Opperman , your sisters (Danielle and Cecile) and brother (Jan-Hendrik) for the continuous love and support.

We continue to praise an almighty God and thank him for the continuous blessings.

The dreaded 6 month follow up appointment is on us....

PJ will have his appointment on Monday and we ask you all to please pray with us that it's positive and great news.

We know God has been the shining light in this journey.

We will keep everyone updated but we trust and have faith.

Leading up to today, we have all been nervous, scared and a little anxious.

Today we got the awesome news that everything is still GOOD. PJ'S body reacted to the treatment. What...... Yes!!!!!
PRAISE GOD!!

Our next appointment will be in March/April 2023.

We would like to thank every family member, friend and acquaintance for your support and prayers. We know this is all from God.

Today he will get his "routine" blood work and scans done... and then it is the agonizing wait for results and doctor visit on Friday.

Sitting in the waiting room of PJ's oncologist is never easy, the 15 min before entering is a non stop prayer for this mother. Believing that everything will be ok, but still scared of what might be,....this Friday was no exception,....Friday the 8th of July, PJ had his oncologist visit after the operation. Dr was once again amazed that PJ look so good after such a big operation, the bloodworks are clean, and dr is very happy.

We are so relieved and so so thankful to our Heavenly Father, for never failing us, even when we are scared.

Thank you for your continuous prayers, there is power in prayer,to my son Pj Opperman, I am so very proud of you, you are so brave❤️.

Our next appointment and scan is booked for the 14th of October, we are still raising funds for all of the medical bills, please keep on supporting us, on our backabuddy page, and of course with our food sales.

What a week it has been.... We are exhausted....but o so thankful.

First of all, thank you Heavenly Father, thank you for always providing and neve forsaking us.

The week started of with receiving the quotate for a 100k for the operation to remove the tumor.
Thank you to each and every one for making donations, we can never thank you enough. To our family that stepped in and arranged the balance of the money on various loans.. Thank you.

Now it was time to book the operation for Friday (3rd June)
After what felt like forever, the Doctor advised that they have removed the tumor with clear margins..

Again Thank you God🙌🏻

PJ stayed in ICU for 2 days and 4 more days in hospital. The Dr. is very happy with PJ's healing progress.... And then some good news... The biopsy results came back.. stage 1 melanoma & the whole mass was removed with clear margins. Praise God🙌🏻.

Speechless and thankful, can't begin to describe the emotions.

25 staples and a very big cut later and PJ is at home resting but feeling good.

We haven't been sitting still and are busy doing various things to raise the funds to pay back the loans with various family members and the extra medial costs.

We have been baking pancakes, doing curry and rice evenings etc. We are exhausted but we will keep going.

Once again - God gave us a way in accomplishing the unthinkable...

Morning

We thought it would be good to give everyone an update as to what's happening.

We received the quotes from the hospital, anesthetist etc. The total cost is R100 000 (all documents are available)

As you can imagine this left us without words but we know we must fight for PJ.

We are doing everything in our power to raise funds.

We also requested to sign acknowledgement of debts /payment plans for the hospital and anethetist but unfortunately they are not interested and because PJ is not on a medical aid they require full upfront payment.

We know we have asked a lot from everyone but we please ask that if you can contribute in away way to please help us 🙏

We not just asking for monetary help but also that you please keep us in your prayers especially PJ, Laurika, Annelie, Hendrik, Danielle, Jan Hendrik & Cecile.
These are the people with PJ on a daily basis and they are fighting and doing everything in their power to raise funds whilst they still all working and attending school.
You are all superstars.

Once again this road is difficult but we are fighters and we have unwavering faith In God and we know with him everything and anything is possible.

First of all, thank you so much for every prayer and message the last few days.

We have just heard back from the doctor and once again we have to ask each and everyone that we know to please help us.

The scans show cancer in the small intestine but the doctor is positive that they can remove it surgical(operation required) But this must be done within the next week. If they can't remove it all surgical we then have to start Keytruda again..
The upside to this.. It's only one small tumor ( there are always positives)

So we have come to you again with our pride in our pockets to please ask each and every person to please help us raise the funds that PJ needs for this operation.

We haven't received all the final costs but are estimating it to be around R55 000 (the same as when they had to remove the gland)

We are not giving up this fight and PJ is not giving up and we know you are all right behind him.

Please can you share this post and help us raise the funds for PJ. We know times are really hard but every rand will make a difference.

With Thursday's oncologist appointment, dr was not 100% happy with the bloodworks(the cancer count).

PJ will be going for a CT scan this week.

Please pray for PJ, for clear scans.
