At Rooted, we believe that assessment prior to therapy is a crucial step in the therapeutic process - therefore we never see a child for therapy before conducting a Socio-Emotional Assessment first. This is because assessment helps us to:

🌱Identify the root causes of behaviour.
🌱Gain a comprehensive understanding of the child’s life context.
🌱Identity if any referrals to other professionals are necessary.
🌱Set clear and achievable goals for therapy.

We believe that ethical therapeutic practice requires a thorough understanding of the clients needs and circumstances. By using a Socio-Emotional Assessment as a starting point, we can ensure that our therapeutic interventions remain evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and tailored to each childs unique background and experiences. 💚

Meet Anli Bedeker 🌱

With a passion for helping children and parents grow together, Anli offers therapy, socio-emotional assessments, and interactional analysis, as well as parental guidance and support. Her gentle presence creates a safe, nurturing space where each child’s story can unfold and each parent feels supported in their journey. 🌱

Anli is also busy completing her Masters degree in Play-Based Intervention, and has completed numerous accredited training courses in her field. 📚

🌱 Are you a newly qualified social worker looking to grow your therapeutic skills with children and families?

Rooted Assessment & Therapy Centre is offering a Social Work Internship for 2026 — an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a multidisciplinary therapy environment.

You’ll have the chance to:
💬 Conduct individual and group work with children
🌍 Assist with community-based projects
🎓 Receive specialised therapeutic training through FACT Network
🌿 Work alongside a compassionate, dynamic team committed to making a difference

📍 Based in Pretoria East, with some projects in Pretoria West and Benoni
🕐 25 hours per week | 💸 Small monthly stipend provided
