Our Story

In 1974 at the age of 24, Karel Snr. started his journey as an entrepreneur when he bought his first Café. From there he owned several businesses. In 2009 Karel realized that South African tap water is deteriorating at an alarming rate and he started to focus on healthy water and true to his nature he started to research all aspects water quality, water purification & water composition. With this knowledge and the help of water a scientist, he developed the Agua é Vida mineral concentrate to re-mineralize water on a molecular level and the ISO gram filter that removes all the radioactive contamination and to re-mineralize water on a molecular level. His initial focus was to become a supplier of the mineral concentrate to all the water purification companies, only to discover total ignorance about the vital need for water to be re-mineralized after purification. Determined to prove the concept, he opened Agua é Vida’s first outlet opened in 2011. Day after day Karel passionately educated customers on the SA water truth and the vital role minerals and trace elements play in hydration and the necessity for his customers to live a hydration lifestyle. Soon the word spread as customers experienced the life-changing benefits of drinking water with minerals, resulting in the initial shop being too small and him having to move into a bigger shop.

In 2014 the first Agua é Vida agency opened its doors in Moreleta Park and in September 2018 we opened the Head Office and factory. Today the Agua é Vida brand is a franchise house with stores in Gauteng, KZN, Free State, Vaal triangle and the Western Cape.
