On this World Su***de Prevention Day please take note of the following:
1. Reach Out for Help. It’s okay not to be okay. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, talk to someone.
2. Check on Your Loved Ones. A simple check-in can make a world of difference. Ask your friends, family, and colleagues how they are doing.
3. Know the Warning Signs. Learn the signs of su***de risk. These may include withdrawal, mood swings, or expressions of hopelessness. If you notice these signs in someone, don't hesitate to talk to them or encourage them to seek help.
4. Listen without Judgment - Be a safe space.
5. Encourage Professional Help. Seeking help is a sign of strength.
6. Self-Care is Vital. Prioritize your mental health.
7. You Are Not Alone. There’s always hope, even when it’s hard to see.
8. Create a Safety Plan. Prepare for tough moments.
