A Baby and Family Clinic run by Sister Amanda Koch in Disa Pharmacy. Amanda has over 40 years of experience of which more than 35 years is in the baby and family Clinic. We offer a full range of primary health services including the government free immunisations as well as additional immunisations such as meningococcal meningitis (breinvlies), measles, german measles, mumps, hepatitis A and chickenpox immunisations. Private immunisations can be claimed from your medical aid. Card facilities are available. For babies a consultation include:
- weighing, measuring and milestones evaluation,
- guidance regarding feeding &
- guidance regarding stimulation according to baby's age. Services for adults include:
- Immunisations (e.g. Hepatitis A & Hepatitis B, pneumonia, tetanus, whooping cough to pregnant mothers etc),
- Vitamin B injections,
- Family Planning injections (with a prescription),
- Private injections (with prescription),
- Screening tests:
- blood pressure; cholesterol; glucose tests;
- Urine tests,
- HIV tests,
- Stitches and clip removal &
- Wound care.

Traditionally a vaccination helps the body to develop its own immune response which helps protect it against a particular disease. Because the immune system of babies and young children is still developing, they are vulnerable to infectious disease and therefore it is advisable to vaccinate babies and young children.

Below is the recommended vaccination schedule which includes the normal government provided free vaccines as well as additional private vaccinations, which are optional. These vaccines have been available for many years. They have been developed according to proper procedures and are safe and tested.
