PASSING OUT PARADE | SAPS

Today, we proudly celebrate the culmination of months of hard work, discipline and resilience. Over 3,500 newly trained police constables have completed the nine-month Basic Police Development Learning Programme — an achievement worthy of the highest recognition.

POLMED’s Principal Officer, Ms Neo Khauoe, joined the celebration as we marked this important milestone in strengthening our policing family and supporting safer communities.

SAPS - Head of the Employee Health and Wellness (EHW), Major General, B Temba wrapped up a first day of “2026 Wellness Activity Planning Workshop” by appealing to all stakeholders to collaborate and work together on EHW activities and campaigns to see the set goals achieved by the end of 2026.

Major General Temba also thanked POLMED for a clear and comprehensive presentation for the year 2025 and for always being there for its members to support, guide, and provide quality health and wellness services needed.

Attendees of “2026 Wellness Activity Planning Workshop” presenting the 2025 achievements in promotion of EHW and engaging on how to improve the services even better in the upcoming year.

The objective is to ensure that members receive best quality Health and Wellness services at all times.

POLMED Senior Manager - Clinical Services, Dr M Majatladi was giving the overview of POLMED Health Profile during the first day of “2026 Wellness Activity Planning Workshop” which is still in progress at CSIR, Pretoria.

Dr Majatladi indicated that the Scheme is servicing almost half a million members with two medical service options, which is Marine and Aquarium.

She also addresses the Mental Health and Depression conditions amongst the members and provides the guidelines of how and where members can get assistance and be re-productive in their respective work environment again.

2026 Wellness Activity Planning Workshop is underway at CSIR in Pretoria

Here POLMED Chief of Staff, Mr S Cele gives an Overview and Purpose of the Day to all stakeholders in attendance of the Workshop.

The purpose of the two day Workshop is to plan ahead the Health and Wellness activities for the year 2026.

Mr Cele indicates that the collaboration of all stakeholders seeks to improve and promote Health and Wellness to the members and dependents through medical screenings for the year 2026 and beyond.

“By moving with a steady pace together we will be able to achieve our goals and reach remote areas where our members live, work and serve our communities” said Mr Cele in closing.

In attendance is POLMED Chief of Staff and Executives, Major General, B Temba, the Head of the Employee Health and Wellness (EHW) within the South African Police Service (SAPS), Medscheme Management, SAPS EHW representatives from various provinces.

After insightful presentations on the Provincial Burden of Disease and Intervention Plans, the provincial commissioner, Lt General M.T. Hadebe, expressed her gratitude to all speakers. Special thanks to POLMED Principal Officer, Ms Neo Khauoe, for highlighting the province’s health challenges, solutions and the importance of collaboration. The symposium provided a valuable platform to share knowledge and strategies for improving health outcomes in the Limpopo province.
