Food intolerances Vs Food allergy
Food intolerances
This a non-allergic food hypersensitivity, an unwanted reaction due to a specific food ingredient ,when this ingredient is consumed
This is not a true food allergy (an allergic reaction needs the presence of IgE antibodies against the food)
A food intolerance can occur due to the absence of chemicals or enzymes in the body needed to digest that particular ingredient
This type of reaction is much more common than food allergies. It is a more chronic reaction than the acute allergic reaction to food
Symptoms include:
Fatigue
Joint pains
Dark circles under eyes
Night sweats
Bloating
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation (IBS), bloating
Mouth ulcers
Sinus, chronic cough, asthma, rhinitis
Eczema, skin rash
Weight gain due to chronic inflammation
