BITS Pilani Dubai engineers Eshel Wasim and Dharsan Srinivasan created Project REBIRTH, an AI-powered airplane crash survival system that deploys external airbags in under two seconds when crashes are imminent below 3,000 feet.

The system uses Kevlar, TPU, Zylon, and smart fluids to absorb impact, potentially reducing crash damage by 60% according to computer simulations.

It includes GPS tracking, infrared beacons, and bright paint for rescue operations. Inspired by a deadly Air India crash, the concept has a 1:12 scale prototype and competes for the James Dyson Award 2025's $40,000 prize.

– Etteln generates 34 times more electricity than it consumes, entirely from biogas, solar, and wind.
– A large battery storage system ensures a stable supply.
– Because of this self-produced renewable energy, households pay about one-third less for electricity compared to the German average.

🔹 Smart Infrastructure:
– Etteln runs a digital twin that displays weather data and monitors water levels in local streams – vital for flood protection.
– The system also tracks textile recycling containers to prevent overflow and waste.
– The village’s digital platform is hosted directly inside a wind turbine data center – powered right where the energy is produced.

🔹 Community First:
– All of this is possible because the villagers themselves drove forward fiber-optic expansion and modernization – on a voluntary basis. This strong sense of community is the foundation of Etteln’s success.
