As this year comes to an end, my heart is so full.
To every mama who trusted me with her pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey - thank you!
To every family who attended my antenatal classes - thank you for showing up, asking questions, and choosing informed, empowered birth!
And to my incredible village... my backup midwives & gynaes, doulas, birth photographers, pelvic floor physio .health.physio , biokineticist , chiropractors, and every professional I collaborate and refer to - thank you for your skill, care, and teamwork.
To my beautiful family, supporting behind the scenes, I couldn't do it without you!

None of this is done alone.

It truly takes a village to support mothers, babies, and families. I’m so grateful for mine. Wishing you all a beautiful end to 2025 and an even better 2026!

I had planned to leave for holiday on the 18th of October (my daughter's birthday).. A full week away with my family after a long, beautiful, busy season of births. I had one mama still due, and I was so sure her little one would be here before we left.

But at 41 weeks and 4 days, there was still no sign of baby, so I started dealing with the fact that I would not be the one to deliver her baby.

Then, while I was packing, just after midnight - the exact day I was meant to leave - my phone lit up:
“My water just broke.” 💧

Of course. God’s timing, not mine.
I felt such a calm come over me - the kind that only comes from trusting Him fully. Just one hour before I had to leave, her precious baby arrived safely and peacefully. I got to be there. I got to support her. I got to witness God’s perfect timing once again.

I am so deeply grateful for this calling and for the people who walk alongside me in it. A huge thank you to who was a gem as always, supporting during labour &
Sister from , who cared for this beautiful mama during the postpartum period and ensured she was held with the same love and gentleness. Teamwork is everything in birth work, and I am blessed by the women who serve alongside me.

This journey reminded me again:
We can plan our days, but God orders our steps.
Birth unfolds exactly when it is meant to - never early, never late.

Heart full. Holiday officially started. God is good. 🤍✨

One of the most fascinating things about newborns is their incredible sense of smell.
From the very first day, your baby can recognize your unique scent and even find their way to the breast by smell alone. 🌸👶

This is why skin-to-skin is so powerful — it helps regulate baby’s heartbeat and breathing, but also reassures them with the smell and warmth of home (that’s you, mama 🤍).

So if you feel like your little one only settles in your arms, remember: you’re not just holding them, you are their safe space. 💕

I can’t stop staring at this beautiful capture of our family when we welcomed our newest little love earlier this year 💛 Thank you Sam for freezing this moment in time so perfectly.

If you’re expecting, I highly recommend booking her — she has such a gift for capturing those raw, first moments and turning them into treasures you’ll keep forever. 📸 And yes...this photo also hangs right above our bed, so I can look at it every night before I go to sleep and be reminded of how utterly blessed I am!

💜 A Day in the Life of a Midwife 💜

People often ask me: “What does a day in your life look like?”
The truth is… no two days are ever the same. 🌸

Some days it’s coffee and consults ☕📋
Some days it’s teaching couples an antenatal class 💬
And some days it’s the absolute honour of holding space as a new life enters the world ✨

Through it all, I’m reminded that this work is more than a job — it’s a calling, and I’m so grateful for every mama and baby I get to walk alongside. 💐And why yes...those are the same flowers I received from a family after delivering their baba over a year ago!! (Still no idea what flower it is or how I've managed to keep it alive this long, but they bring me so much joy!)

Today is Career Day at her preschool, and this little boss babe showed up ready to catch babies and calm mommies — doppler and all! 🫶🏼

She’s been hearing about births, weighing teddies, and taking vitals since before she could walk. Clearly, it’s in the blood. 🩷

Born this Monday, weighing a strong 4.4 kilograms, and brought into the world by a mommy who truly birthed like a champion 💪🏼💛

No stitches needed, just pure strength, focus, and trust in her body.
What an incredible birth to witness — we’re still in awe of this powerful mama and her gorgeous bundle of joy.
