Body Stress Release is a complementary health technique that assists the body in unlocking stored tension and activating self-healing. Body stress refers to any tension that is stored in a physical structure, which the body has not managed to release. Body stress is accurately detected by carrying out gentle and precise tests, using the body as a biofeedback mechanism. Body stress may become locked in due to:
Mechanical stress like heavy lifting and twisting movements. Chemical stress allergies, perfumes, cleaning products, paints. Emotional and mental stress such as work stress, trauma, and challenging periods. The Assessment:
The body stress release assessment is carried out with the client lying face down fully clothed on a padded couch. The practitioner activates the biofeedback mechanism by moving the feet in a specific way, this is called the monitor. The practitioner does a series of body stress tests, pressing lightly on various points in specific directions, if there is body stress present it slightly irritates the nervous system resulting in a tiny withdrawal reflex. The Release:
After locating the stress patterns in an area of the body, the practitioner carries out a stimulus usually with the thumb in multiple spots and correct directions. This sends a series of messages to the brain alerting the body of stored tension. The brain then sends commands to the structures concerned to release it, thus self-healing can begin. Body stress release is safe for all ages and stages of life, from infants to the elderly. The force applied is light enough to never override the body's natural protective resistance. The sole purpose of BSR is to locate and release sites of body stress. It is not the diagnosis and treatment of any condition or illness. As it does not seek to replace any form of medical care, it is complementary to medicine.
