One of the greatest joys of my work is building lifelong relationships — and Stefan Broodryk is exactly that! 🙌

I’ve known Stefan since his primary school days, and what a journey it has been 💛

Stefan was born with PFFD (Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency), a rare congenital condition that results in a significantly shortened femur and complex limb structure. His residual limb presents unique challenges, but Stefan knows exactly what he wants and needs in a prosthesis — and he is never shy to tell me! 😄

He does not use silicone liners or suction systems. Instead, we opt for a custom PE Lite liner with targeted build-ups to ensure a smooth, easy slide into the socket, perfectly shaped for both comfort and control.

Working with Stefan keeps me sharp — his high standards and clear feedback push me to constantly improve and innovate. Thank you, Stefan, for your unwavering loyalty and for always trusting me with your prosthetic care. It is a privilege and a pleasure to walk this journey with you 💪

A True Craftsman’s Challenge & a Lifetime of Loyalty 💛

This week, I had the absolute honour of manufacturing a new Below Knee Prosthesis for Danie Stroebel — an incredible man and amputee for more than 45 years. Danie is one of those rare individuals who has stuck to what works for him, and we fully respect that 💪

He continues to wear the PTS suspension system — a handcrafted socket design that grips above the femoral condyles without the use of modern silicone liners or suction systems. It is old school, it is technical, and it is one of the most difficult systems to perfect, especially on a bony residual limb. There is no room for error and nowhere to hide. It is raw skill, fine-tuned experience, and a true expression of what prosthetic craftsmanship is all about.

Danie, thank you for your incredible loyalty, your trust, and most of all, your friendship over all these years. It is always a privilege to work with you — and this leg, like every one before it, was made with care and pride 🙌
