Health Promotion Officer (HPO) Course is a Department of Health promoted course that is used for the Ward Based Primary Health Care Outreach Teams (WBPHCOT). By doing this qualification, one stands a chance to join the WBPHCOT field workers. It is a qualification that seeks to promote disease prevention and ensure that community members are empowered.

On the other hand, the Social Auxiliary Worker (SAW) qualification is a Health and Welfare SETA promoted qualification through learnership. Once one sees a qualification being administered as a leadership, it means that the qualification is in demand in the labour market.
