Low back pain is one of the most common conditions treated by physiotherapists — and most cases are not linked to serious pathology.
Low back pain is generally classified by how long it’s been present:
• Acute: less than 6 weeks
• Sub-acute: 6–12 weeks
• Chronic: longer than 12 weeks
Defined as pain or discomfort felt below the rib cage and above the gluteal folds, with or without leg pain, low back pain can feel overwhelming — but it’s often very manageable.
With the right assessment, education, and progressive movement, many people see excellent results with physiotherapy.
