Today we celebrate being Audiologists.
Yes, we work with ears, hearing, brain health, and balance — using incredible technology to identify and manage hearing and balance disorders. And we’re still completely amazed by the magnificent technology that fits in even the smallest hearing aid.
Still...
I’ve been at this practice for 11 years and still see patients I met in my very first week.
Over the years, I’ve met their children, grandchildren, and even pets. I’ve grieved patients who have passed on and held the hands of those who’ve lost loved ones. I’ve admired matric farewell and wedding photos on the same day I shared in conversations about placing a spouse in frail care. I have told parents their child has a profound hearing loss but also celebrated new words spoken.
I’ve learned that being an Audiologist goes far beyond ears and hearing —
it’s about people, relationships, making and keeping connections. And I have loved every part of it.
Here’s to every Audiologist making a difference, one connection at a time!
