To be healthy also involves getting to understand our own vulnerability, pain, longing, sense of loss, guilt, dreams, expectations and hopes. https://www.facebook.com/100066614144872/posts/1145759344321193/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v

I wish more people understood that grief isn't just being sad and crying.
Grief is being angry, being numb, being broken, and being everything in-between Grief is so different for everyone and you just have to go through the motions and roll with the punches.
When you're grieving the loss of someone you grieve for what was and what will never be, grief also takes a big toll on your mental and physical health.
Grief is LOVE with nowhere to go.
Grief is trying to remind yourself that "this too shall pass"
Grief is forcing yourself out of bed to shower and eat.
Greif is isolating yourself
Grief is surrounding yourself with people and things to distract your brain from reality Grief is ugly and rough, so if you cannot understand why people grieve so hard for so long and so deep consider yourself lucky to not understand. ❤️‍🩹

🇨🇭 Switzerland is installing solar panels on train tracks through a pilot project by the Swiss startup Sun-Ways.

How will it work?
A specially equipped train car glides over the tracks, ejecting panels that fit in between the rails. The panels are removable and a meter wide.

Where is it being tested?
The panels are being tested on a section of rail near Buttes in Western Switzerland. The testing will last for three years, starting in spring 2025.

Potential Sustainable impact?
If rolled out to the country's entire 5,000km rail network, the panels could supply 2% of Switzerland's electricity.

Are there any major Challenges?
We think ice and snowfall could stop the panels from being useful, but Sun-Ways has advised they are working on a system to melt frozen precipitation 🚉

Hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Christmas! As with life, all doesn't reveal itself, it is a constant process of renewal, and so is the journey to living healthy! Enjoy the ride ....

“I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape — the loneliness of it; the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn’t show.”

- Andrew Wyeth

Merry Christmas, let your values be reflected in your actions! Blessed Festive to every one of you, you are special ...

The old seller replied, '$0.25 an egg, Madam.'She said to him, 'I will take 6 eggs for $1.25 or I will leave.'The old seller replied, 'Come take them at the price you want. Maybe, this is a good beginning because I have not been able to sell even a single egg today.'She took the eggs and walked away feeling she has won.

She got into her fancy car and went to a posh restaurant with her friend. There, she and her friend, ordered whatever they liked. They ate a little and left a lot of what they ordered. Then she went to pay the bill. The bill cost her $45.00, she gave $50.00 and asked the owner of the restaurant to keep the change. This incident might have seemed quite normal to the owner but, very painful to the poor egg seller.

The point is, why do we always show we have power when we buy from needy ones? And why do we get generous to those who do not even need our generosity? My father used to buy simple goods from poor people at high prices, even though he did not need them. Sometimes he even used to pay extra for them. I got concerned by this act and asked him why does he do so? Then my father replied, "It is a charity wrapped with dignity, my child."

A quote to take on our future! Encourage kids to develop even the skills that are not rewarded by stars, stickers and gifts! That way they can add so much more value to their own and the lives of others ...

We destroy the disinterested (I do not mean uninterested) love of learning in children, which is so strong when they are small, by encouraging and compelling them to work for petty and contemptible rewards — gold stars, or papers marked 100 and tacked to the wall, or A’s on report cards. In short, for the ignoble satisfaction of feeling that they are better than someone else. We kill, not only their curiosity, but their feeling that it is a good and admirable thing to be curious, so that by the age of ten most of them will not ask questions, and will show a good deal of scorn for the few who do. ~John Holt

Mining your strength, builds your character ...

The best people possess a feeling for beauty, the courage to take risks, the discipline to tell the truth, the capacity for sacrifice. Ironically, their virtues make them vulnerable; they are often wounded, sometimes destroyed. ~Ernest Hemingway

The extremely great times in life are few, but there also comes the wing-breaker ones, the damaging ones, and you have to make it through that as well ...

"It is so easy to believe that you'll always be ready to handle everything life presents to you, but a day--many days--arrive and you can't bear it, you can't even dream that you have it within you or around you to cope or to survive. Hold on to that emotional, dreaming person--the one who feels--and keep family and friends and the things you love and the things you live for deep in your head and your heart. Eat and laugh a lot; love deeply; give fully. It doesn't just go by fast; it comes at you with alarming speed and stealth and damage.

"You will not be prepared. You will be knocked off your feet, your foundation. Make sure it's a strong foundation, and make sure you know how to get back to it and on it and re-build it.

"No one is ready for what ultimately arrives, but some are lucky and are able to not only survive but to get others through it all.

"Work on that. Feel more. Laugh a lot. Draw a circle of loved ones around you." --Marlon Brando/Interview with James Grissom/1990/

Thoughts and morals ...

The emotionally intelligent person knows that love is a skill, not a feeling, and will require trust, vulnerability, generosity, humor, sexual understanding, and selective resignation. The emotionally intelligent person awards themselves the time to determine what gives their working life meaning and has the confidence and tenacity to try to find an accommodation between their inner priorities and the demands of the world. The emotionally intelligent person knows how to hope and be grateful, while remaining steadfast before the essentially tragic structure of existence. The emotionally intelligent person knows that they will only ever be mentally healthy in a few areas and at certain moments, but is committed to fathoming their inadequacies and warning others of them in good time, with apology and charm… There are few catastrophes, in our own lives or in those of nations, that do not ultimately have their origins in emotional ignorance. ~Alain de Botton
