WHAT IS REIKI ?
Reiki (Rey-key) is theJapanese word for "Universal Life Energy" and describes a system of Natural Healing. Reiki is spiritual in nature and is not contradictory to any religion or spiritual beliefs one may have. Reiki helps us to reconnect with our Heart (Soul) and realigns us with our Higher Self(God). A Reiki treatment is a way of increasing our life energy. When this energy flows uninterrupted, there is balance and harmony within and around us and we experience a greater sense of well being. When the flow of energy is interrupted at times of trauma, stress or loss of loved ones, Reiki treatments can bring feelings of peace and the ability to cope better with the challenges of everyday life and restores and balances energy flow in our bodies. We know today and it's been scientifically confirmed that any kind of trauma settles in the physical body and everything what goes wrong in our bodies (illness, depression, low immune system, any terminal desease, and so on....) starts mostly from emotions that have been suppressed - usually unconsciously - for some time. Reiki is a non -intrusive treatment. There are no know contra-indications and Reiki is approved by FDA.
TREATMENT
The recipient remains clothed and lies on a massage bed. The Practitioner gently places their hands, in a series of non-intrusive positions, on or near the body. There is no massage or any kind of manipulation. The entire person is treated rather than only a specific area. Sessions can take anything from 30 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on individual needs. More than one session may be required.
WHAT THE REIKI TREATMENT FEELS LIKE ?
Each person experience Reiki Healing differently. Most people report that the treatment feels like a wonderful, warm, glowing, radiance that flows through and around body. Some people feel sensations of heat, tingling or experience seeing colors, while others can have an emotional responses. All of these experiences indicate that shifts are taking place, allowing harmony and energy flows to be restored.
Reiki practitioners will not give you any diagnosis and will not predict any outcome from treatment. Reiki treatments will not replace or interfere with medications or medical treatments prescribed by medical practitioners. Reiki treatments work in harmony with all other forms of healing, including drugs and alcohol rehabilitation, surgery, psychological counselling, prescribed medication, chemotherapy, radiation or any other methods of alternative care. In most cases Reiki treatments will help to boost the effectiveness of the treatments.
