As level 4 lockdown is now active...
Zahira Omar Physiotherapists will reopen for treatments on Monday, 4 May 2020.
Be assured we have your best interest at ❤️and protecting you from getting infected with this virus is extremely vital to us .Therefore for your own safety as well as the safety of your family and friends we are enforcing the following directives that the WHO and NICD have suggested:
1. Proper screening prior to admission to the practice including confirmation that you have not been knowingly exposed, or could be a carrier based on your risk profile.
2. Ensuring you are not showing signs or symptoms: either COVID related or signs that you are immuno-compromised.
3. A reminder to consider your own risks relating to comorbidities or your age.
4. Wearing of a mask is crucial and very mandatory and you will be issued with a material mask at your own cost of R45, if you are not wearing a mask at the time of your consultation.
5. We will be attending to walk-in clients as well as those made telephonically by appointment...,as long as you adhere to the regulatory screening procedure and that relevant documents need to be completed and signed prior to receiving treatment.
6. Please arrive on time as we want to mobilize the waiting area to allow for optimal social distancing and to reduce any unforeseen risks.
7. No additional persons(responsible adult) allowed to accompany patients other than for minors who will be receiving treatment or for a mentally/ cognitively impaired person too.
8. Temperature will be measured on arrival routinely.If above 37.3 degrees celcius you will be requested to see a medical practitioner to asses the way forward and depending on the outcome to temporarily terminate or to continue with your physiotherapy.
9. It is imperative that you bring along comfortable clothing(shorts)to wear as well as your own towels, this is only to ensure your own safety.
These directives are fluid and guidelines can be changed at any time.We will keep you updated.
The virus is faceless and gives no warning before it transfers.

We will be cleaning all surfaces with disinfectant and alcohol based sanitizers regularly and consistently to ensure your optimal health and safety.
There is very little precedent for this type of pandemic and the past few weeks have been a steep learning curve for the medical fraternity. We have to be open and accepting to adapt so as to adopt to new habits. “Our normal”will be different ,trusting that it will be even better!
