Hey TUT Fam!

Peer Educators from the Pretoria Campus kicked off their first Res Intervention for the Pads Drive & Condom Distribution Initiative at Ekhaya Junction Residences

This forms part of our Res-Care Intervention an approach focused on bringing essential health services, education and support directly to student residences. The aim is to create safe spaces, promote well-being, encourage responsible choices and ensure that no student is left behind when it comes to access to care.

Great things are happening in the Peer Education Programme! On 18 April 2025, peer educators from the Arts, Arcadia, and eMalahleni campuses gathered at the stunning Manhattan Hotel to learn, grow, and prepare for impactful leadership.

We are proud to celebrate our peer educator who has been nominated to the Executive Committee for 2026 a step forward in driving positive change across our campuses!

This dynamic training equipped participants with essential leadership competencies to effectively execute their roles, including:
• Servant Leadership – Presented by Aids Council (Gauteng Civil Society)
• Communication & Interpersonal Skills – Presented by SDS
• Leadership Skills & Styles – Presented by SGLD
• Year Plan Presentation – Presented by ML Lebaka
• Vision & Mission, Monitoring & Evaluation – Sr Noko / Sr Lehala
• Code of Conduct for Peer Educators

Together, we are building empowered leaders committed to student wellbeing and transformation.

𝗣𝗘𝗘𝗥 𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧: 𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗘𝗫𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘! 🏆

We are beyond proud to celebrate one of our very own, Reabetswe Mothiba, for her incredible achievement at the Hult Global Competition 2026!

Reabetswe, a Language Practice graduate and former Peer Educator from our Soshanguve Campus, took home First Place for her groundbreaking app, LingoLinks.

What is LingoLinks? It’s an innovative language-accessibility app designed to bridge communication gaps in our multilingual communities. Using real-time, location-based technology, it connects users with native speakers and translators, ensuring that indigenous and underrepresented languages are never a barrier to essential services.

LingoLinks enhances access to critical services like healthcare and education, while also creating income opportunities for local language practitioners. Reabetswe’s success perfectly embodies TUT’s mission to embed sustainability and entrepreneurship into our culture (IOS 2026–2035).

Join us in the comments to congratulate Reabetswe on her leadership, innovation and social impact! 👏👏👏
