Transitioning To Entrepreneurship: Challenges And Considerations
People complain everyday about what they do for a living.
Many of them are frustrated due to logistics and challenges and other others want to do different things but just don't know how to do it.
Are you one of those people?
Whether you're a professional or an employee in a broad field, do you believe that you're equally frustrated like the people I speak to on a day-to-day basis and do you want to get out of that?
Well here's what I share with people that I regularly speak to you and share advice with and or coach or mentor. It's simple, firstly, can you afford in these economic times to lose the income or risk the income that you have that supports yourself and your family.
Secondly, do you have a skill or something that you're really good at or can learn to do to generate an income? Firstly to match your current income and potentially generate more revenue income and and improve lifestyle for you?
And thirdly, are you willing to do the work to build something that starts from Ground Zero? Very often people speak about their frustrations, but there is a large array of people who complain for complaining sake and do absolutely nothing about it.
Then there are those who are really, really passionate and want to do something about it but have no idea what to do.
And many in the middle have skills, have capacity, but are absolutely scared to take the plunge. Being able to find a balance between what you're good at, what you need to sustain your current lifestyle and family and those who depend on you, and then being able to translate that into profitable income is finding that critical balance of being an entrepreneur at the outset.
What one needs to review at the broader picture is do your skills match the needs and wants of people in the market today? Many people believe they do, and these amongst as many people I speak to. But are you able to then be that one person that offers that service? Because often people come to a company or an organization because of the brand, the legacy and the reputation that they bought.
Will that client that you currently serve or the potential clients that you want to serve come to you as a person because they trust you? Or will they stick with the tried and tested method of who they work with? These are some of the considerations that you need to look at when you want to consider being an entrepreneur. But going further, you need to ask yourselves what can you do to augment your skills, your capabilities, and what are you willing to risk to make that a reality?
