Meet Hannah, the newest member of our team!

In her own words:

I’m passionate about art, love animals, and bring loads of energy (sometimes I think coffee runs through my veins ☕😅). I’m always up for good conversations and a laugh, and I can’t wait to get to know all of you!

This is exactly, why we do what we do. School related trauma creates such enormous (and unnecessary) hurdles for teens and their families. But we're not accepting the status quo. There's more than 1 way to get kids ready for adulthood, and we'll find every single way.

Sitting at a desk is not the only way, or even the best way, to learn.

At the Learning Hive, we offer a variety of ways for a young person to support their body, while their brain does all the hard work.

We encourage autonomy and teach teens how to listen to their body, so that they feel safe and comfortable.

Online therapy can be a great option if you’re juggling a busy schedule, living a bit further out, or just feel more at ease chatting from your own space. It’s flexible, accessible, and can make it easier to fit regular sessions into your week.

That said, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea; tech glitches, privacy at home, or missing that face-to-face connection can be tricky for some.

But for many, it’s a gentle and effective way to get support that fits around real life. If you’re curious, send me a message. Let's see if online sessions will work for you.

We've got the spirit, yes we do! We've got the spirit, how about you?

The kids at the Learning Hive put in a request for a standing desk, which arrived yesterday, and was assembled today.

The kids were so excited to see that our friends at the Lighthouse, had also completed building the same desk earlier this week.

Seeing kids in a different city, and in a different centre, ask for the same thing, and have their request respected, makes my heart beam.

This is how we keep our bodies happy throughout the day!

Each child knows what they need. They naturally gravitate towards items that bring them joy and calm.

We've loved hearing the giggles trickle through the corridors at the Neurodiversity Hive.

Karla from working their magic in the Deep Dive cell.

By the way, a cell is what an individual hexagon in a Hive is called. It's not a locked room as we may think of in connection to prison.

This kiddo sat with Karla out of free will, and did so to complete 10 pages of Maths. I'm dumbstruck.

The feedback received is that Karla is a winner winner chicken nugget dinner!
