We offer comprehensive services including antenatal classes, well-baby clinic, breastfeeding support, first-aid and safety training, virtual care, post-natal classes, Carriwell fitment center, antenatal care and swimming. With a team of eight specialized nursing sisters and extensive support services, we ensure high-quality, personalized care for your little ones. We’re pleased to share that the Meningococcal Type B vaccine is now available. Parents and families can contact any of our three clinic branches to arrange a booking.

Meningococcal disease is a rare but serious bacterial infection that can lead to meningitis (infection of the lining of the brain and spinal cord) or septicaemia (blood poisoning). It can develop rapidly and, even with treatment, can be life-threatening. International data shows that approximately 1 in 10 people who contract invasive meningococcal disease may not survive, and among survivors, up to 1 in 5 may experience long-term complications such as hearing loss, neurological damage, or limb loss.

What makes the MenB vaccine different?

Your child may already have received the meningococcal vaccine given until now in SA already. It’s important to note that thus vaccine protects against meningococcal groups A, C, W, and Y — but not group B. Meningococcal group B is a leading cause of meningococcal disease in many parts of the world, and the MenB vaccine is specifically designed to protect against this strain, which has become more predominant in South Africa in recent years.

Who can receive it?

The vaccine can be given from infancy through adulthood, meaning it is suitable not only for children but for the whole family, depending on individual risk and medical guidance.
