Today UNAIDS South Africa is hosting a consultation with SANAC Civil Society Forum in Sandton to prepare for the upcoming 2026 UN High-Level Meeting on HIV/AIDS, scheduled to take place at UN HQ in New York. In his Opening Remarks, CSF Chairperson Mr. Solly Nduku said, “The upcoming high-level meeting to be held in New-York in June will result in a new political declaration that will guide the Global HIV Response through 2030. That declaration must not be a distant document shaped in boardrooms far removed from the realities of our communities. It must be grounded in the lived experiences of people on the ground. It must reflect the urgency of those still being left behind. And it must be bold enough to match the scale of the challenge before us”.

👥HEALTH. DIGNITY. ACCESS. THIS IS THE REAL CONVERSATION.

Dr Thembisile Xulu, CEO of SANAC, takes the stage at Vaal EmpowaYouth Week 2026.

SANAC drives national coordination, policy and multi-sector action. This is where health meets systems, leadership and real impact. Without access, dignity and support, young people cannot fully participate in the economy.

This conversation goes beyond awareness. It is about how systems are built, how access is created and how lives are changed at scale.

Stronger systems.
Healthier communities.
Real impact.

Many people never consider themselves as at risk of being infected with TB. You may not be experiencing all the usual symptoms (cough, chest pain, weight loss, fatigue, fever, and night sweats) but still could be infected.
