Manguzi Gijima is more than just a sports day! The Disability Engagement Workshop is held two days before the main sporting event. It is planned, organized and implemented by the local disability sector. Last year the day kicked off with a Disability Rights march! The Gijima Workshop provides a space for the local disability sector to discuss local disability issues with local, provincial and national stakeholders from government departments and civil society and explore potential solutions. The workshop highlights South Africa's policy-practice gap, but also brings together stakeholders from different sectors and develops local solutions to local problems. Advocacy starts here, with us!
