*Important Information*: Digital Eye Strain and Your Child:
What is it?
Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) or digital eye strain describes a number of eye and vision-related problems that is a consequence from prolonged computer, tablet, e-reader and cell phone use. Many children complain of dry, irritated and tired eyes, CVS could be the reason why.

Struggling to focus Trouble concentrating,Blurred vision Moodiness,Difficulty keeping your eyes open Depression

What can I do to protect my child from blue light and CVS?
• Reduce Screen Brightness: adjust brightness of screens from bright white to a cool gray. Glare reduction filters for computer screens are also available.
• Adjust Your Screen: screens should always be a safe distance from your eyes, directly in front of you and slightly below eye level.
• Increase Text Size: words are easier to read and more comfortable on your eyes.
• Blink More Often: staring at a digital screen can cause your eyes to dry.
• Take a 20-20-20 Break: every 20 min, take a 20-sec break and look at something 20 feet (6m) away.
• Limit Screen Time: 2hours maximum for children older than 7 on weekends.
• Wear Computer Glasses with blue light antireflective coating: lenses help to reduce effects of eyestrain and blue coating reduces harmful blue light from computer, tablet and cell phone screens that can lead to macular degeneration.
• Don’t let children under 2 years of age watch TV or work on tablets or cell phones: these devices have a lasting effect on their speech, short-term memory and reading abilities.
