|Where my natural journey started|
About 5 years ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and felt like I needed a serious lifestyle change. I am a bit of a research freak when I find a topic that interests me. So after countless hours of research and coming across life changing information, I decided to go vegan. I also started paying attention to balancing my hormones.
I spent many months focusing on what I put in my body, and after that I started paying attention to what I put on my body.
Why? Because nearly every single product I was using, from shampoo to face wash, moisturizer to perfume, was filled with toxic chemicals, many of which have been proven to disrupt your hormones. And if my hormones were already out of whack, why would I knowingly use products that would further imbalance them?
The number one ingredient you should avoid to, in turn, avoid messing up your hormones is fragrance (also known as perfume, parfum, cologne or eau de toilette). It’s one of the only ingredients that doesn’t have to be fully disclosed on the label, meaning there’s a “fragrance loophole” in our products that allows companies to simply use the generic term “fragrance” rather than being transparent and telling the consumer what’s really in the product.
Did you know the average fragrance product contains 14 secret chemicals not listed on the label?
And that these unlisted ingredients often include carcinogens, allergens, respiratory irritants, endocrine disruptors, neurotoxic chemicals and environmental pollutants?
Why is fragrance bad for you? Take a look at some of the negative side effects of fragrance:
* Fragrance causes headaches and negatively affects the brain.
* Fragrance irritates the skin.
* Fragrance causes allergies, asthma and respiratory distress.
* Fragrance harms the reproductive system.
* Fragrance causes cancer.
Nearly all mainstream skincare, cosmetic, toiletry, household and personal care products are chockfull of chemicals. Ya thanks but NO! Hit me up if you want to know more about the hidden nasties and how to make a change. Because you deserve better🙌🏼
