Day 4 - Arniston and the deep blue- settling into spaces

Our retreat commenced with mindful walking and a hike over rocks, dunes and through a low tide to a cave.

Today was quite reflective for everyone and just breathing in the fresh air helped everyone get their hearts and minds aligned with the environment.

How often do take in our environments and breathe into the space. We did a few practice rounds and I would encourage you to do the same.

Take in a few deep breaths with your eyes closed.
Now open them and take in what you see, hear, smell, feel and taste.

If you could put a name to the energy around you in the space what would it be? It could be a verb or noun or simply an emotion.

It's easy to feel uncomfortable in a tense environment, but how often do we appreciate taking in a peaceful space or getting into flow with the buzz of a coffee shop. What does your bedroom feel like to you? Is it busy or vibey or calm and serene for rest?

Day 3- Tasting life

We did a wine tasting today. Shaun the sheep took a back seat here😆

I had a wonderful remote work day with good food and expanded my pallet just that little bit more with a champagne tasting and a nacho crusted chicken lunch.

As I went through all the tastes of the day, I wondered what does life taste like for me?

What does each experience taste like?

I shall have to start documenting that as I go....
For now when I tasted the 3 champagnes from left to right made me think of:
1. A horse
2. A fancy handbag
3. Morning Mountain dew

The next time you taste something, see if you can receive an image of what the experience reminds you off.

Day 2 - drive to Nuy

Another push on, stopping along the way to have a drink in a haunted hotel bar.

It was like stepping into the past- check out the video and let me know what you think.

Shaun the sheep ended up befriending the lab at Leipzig after we explored the tortoise sanctuary and had a few moments with them.

The drive was pretty uneventful and I tried to not have any music on so that I could explore hearing the universe on the drive.

How often do we stop to truly hear ourselves and what we really want? Whether it's food or rest or decisions to take. It was great exploring the flow into traffic and found that trucks and cars moved aside for me or were kind on roads.

Arrived in wine country and boy oh boy is it spectacular! First dirt road of the trip and Lucy(the car, a Hyundai i20) turned into lara croft ready for action.

Looking forward to day 3 when I explore taste 🤪

The start

Day 1- travel to Richmond

Was a long drive through Gauteng, Free State and Northern Cape.

As I moved through the different landscapes, it struck me how different environments impact us. How places simply feel different and how the land offers different foods and people.

Long drives through SA always make me feel a deeper sense of love for the land and gratitude that I get to live in such beauty and majesty.

Our connection to the earth and environment surpasses birth papers, race, culture, religion or creed. In it's purest form it is simply a collective of matter and non matter in different forms.

I am so looking forward to this journey and already feel the difference. I hope you join me on this one and share in my contemplations along the way.

We stopped at anra rusgenot guesthouse in Richmond for the night.

P.s.thats Shaun the Sheep on the bed there.. my travel companion for this leg of the journey. He stands in for photo ops as he is always camera ready and I don't have to over use my selfie arm🤪 ( will do a proper introductory post for him soon)
