Grab a cuppa… ☕️ There’s something I’d like to share with you, friends.
Many years ago, I sat in a doctor’s room with tear-stained cheeks. Desperation in my clenched fists, and shame heavy in my heart that I was doing something wrong. This was yet-another-doctor I’d come to for answers (ifykyk). She was telling me about supplements and nutrition and how my unexplained chronic pain and debilitating fatigue could be erased… If I just ate this particular diet (it was a very popular eating plan at the time).
I didn’t buy the supplements. Nor start the eating plan recommended.
Not because I don’t believe in the power of nutrition but because she showed very little compassion, interrupted me when I was explaining my symptoms & primarily because what was happening in my body had started very long ago.
10+ years to be exact.
Trauma. It had marked a line in the sand. My mental health tumbled first. My physical health followed suit years later. Because I wasn’t getting any trauma-informed support. In fact, not a single person had even asked me about trauma when I described my panic attacks and later, my chronic illness.
I’ve shared a lot about my story with our email subscribers over the years… So if that’s you, you’ll know - yoga therapy was really a critical turning point for me 🤍 And if that’s not you & you’d like to learn more - I have a gift for you at the bottom of this post ⬇️⬇️⬇️
I went into remission several months after completing my year-long yoga therapy training. And in the last 5 years, I’ve trained 130+ counselors and facilitators on our certification programs. 🌍 Across Africa, Europe, USA, Central America and more recently - New Zealand too!
This is not just a business nor just a training practice. This is a mission to change the world of trauma. It was born out of years of my own personal and deep pain and confusion. And today I’m as determined and convinced as ever that this is going to continue to change the world of trauma and trauma support.
