For the trauma survivors ❤️🩹
Peace, even though it’s what many of us are trying so hard to nurture - can feel anything but peaceful. It can feel endlessly unattainable. Trauma creates disconnection and chaos. Trauma unresolved, over time, starts to feel normal. And in a strange way? Safe.
Disrupting this disconnection and attempting to nurture presence and peace can signal change to the brain. Change - whether “good” or “bad” is always interpreted by the brain as dangerous.
Be patient with yourself, friend. Don’t overdo the striving for peace. Honor your capacity with it. Peace will one day feel normal. Promise.
