Today was pure magic ✨

We spent over five hours at Rand Park Ridge Montessori School, holding space for six groups of kids ranging from little ones to tweens — and what an unforgettable journey it was.

What you might not see in these joyful pictures is the truth behind the scenes…
Last night, we barely slept. We were both feeling dysregulated, exhausted, and unsure of how we’d show up today. Our nervous systems were frayed, and our hearts heavy.

But something beautiful happened.

As we started moving, breathing, feeling, and sharing space with the children — something shifted.
We tapped into that life-force energy. The playful giggles, the curiosity, the open hearts, the raw emotions.
We did somatics, mindfulness, breathwork, and visualization — and with every group, we started coming back to life.

These little ones reminded us of something deeply important: presence heals.
They showed us how powerful it is to feel your feelings, to regulate through movement and breath, and to simply be in the moment.

We had the privilege of working with kids across the age spectrum, including neurodivergent children, and we learned so much — about them, about ourselves, and about the incredible potential of these tools.

We are beyond grateful for this opportunity.
Mindfulness matters. Somatics matters. Emotional safety matters.
And being surrounded by inner child energy? That’s the medicine we didn’t know we needed.

Thank you to the staff, the children, and the hearts that welcomed us in today.
We are revitalized. And we can’t wait to do more.

✨ Somatic Sunday: Coming Full Circle ✨

Today marked a beautiful moment of completion—a full circle journey that began on 1 January last year when we found a Joburg Rock at the Emmarentia Dam in the Johannesburg Botanical Garden. That rock became a part of our lives, traveling with us through a year of challenges, grief, growth, and transformation. It sat in my mesa, charged with sacred medicine and memories from all our adventures. Today, we returned it to the very spot where it was found, releasing it back to the earth with gratitude for all it symbolized.

This act of returning wasn’t just about the rock; it was a reflection of where we’ve been and where we’re going. On our walk, surrounded by nature, sunlight, and the memories of a place we once lived close to, we talked about our goals for 2025. Nothing set in stone (pun intended), but a vision of what we want to manifest in our personal lives, our relationship, and our careers.

It felt grounding to walk, talk, and dream together, reminding us of the importance of connecting with nature, reflecting on our journey, and making space for what’s to come. Sometimes, the simplest acts—like returning a rock or taking a walk—can hold the deepest lessons about letting go, honouring the past, and stepping into the future.

The lack of movement restricts blood flow and the release of endorphins, which are essential for maintaining a positive mood and reducing stress.

🏠 I've recently started part-time work from home, and I've noticed how my emotional and mental state has been hugely affected. I find myself reaching for caffeine more frequently, just trying to get through the day, and struggling with being present. From the bustling streets of Cape Town to the vibrant energy of Johannesburg ✨ my journey has been one of transformation and healing. I escaped the clutches of addiction, breaking free from the chains that bound me to my past. Leaving behind my childhood home was a pivotal moment, a leap of faith into a world of wellness and thriving 💗

Along this path, I delved deep into the core of my being, confronting the shadows of generational patterns like poverty consciousness and not feeling worthy of a better life 🌌 It was through inner child work and shadow work that I began to unravel the tangled threads of my beliefs and wounds. Each step forward was a revelation 💡 a moment of clarity amidst the chaos of my mind.

One of the most profound realizations came with distance and time ⏳. As I moved away from my old home, physically and emotionally, I gained a new perspective 🌈 The beliefs that once held me captive became visible, and I could finally see them for what they were: stories woven from past traumas and inherited struggles.

Healing is an ongoing journey, one that requires patience and perseverance 🌱 Despite the progress made, I continue to work on reframing my narrative, reshaping the lens through which I view myself and the world. It's a journey of self-discovery and self-love ❤️, guided by the wisdom of inner healing practices.

As some of you know, I've embarked on a part-time career in copywriting, a journey filled with its own set of challenges and triumphs 🌟

But amidst the hustle and bustle, I've come to a profound realization – the importance of nurturing our emotional and mental well-being 🌺
