Are you struggling with overweight? Here are Tips:
An adult of normal weight carries from 10 to 25 per cent of his body weight as fat, with the average somewhat lower for men than women. If 30 to 40 per cent of your body weight is fat, you are overweight; if your body weight is more than 40 per cent fat, you are obese.
The physiological costs of being overweight are many and, by now, familiar. Too much extra weight strains the body in a variety of ways: it aggravates diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease, and contributes to digestive and kidney diseases; it increases oneβs vulnerability during surgery; moreover, statistics show that seriously overweight people are more susceptible to certain cancers and fatal accidents.
The economic penalties of being overweight are also considerable: excessive food costs, higher insurance premiums, reduced job opportunities, and eventually fewer chances for promotion.
