We come from a lineage of teachers, a Golden Link that reminds us that ‘Social Justice is a Spiritual Practice’. Silence is not neutral.
Gender based violence is not a debate. It is a national emergency.
In the year ending March 2024, 5,578 women were murdered in South Africa.
That is 1 woman every 3 hours.
Our femicide rate is about x5 higher than the global average.
These are not numbers. These are our sisters, our friends, our mothers, our daughters. Lives taken with a violence so routine that the country has learned to absorb the shock.
People often mistake non-violence for weakness. In yoga, non violence, ahimsa, is a niyama, a discipline, a vow to protect life. So tomorrow, we protest in peace. We stand for peace. We honour life by refusing to replicate the violence that has taken so much from us.
Our anger, our grief, and our power will be felt through the thousands who gather tomorrow in solidarity with . This is what happens when people unite for a single purpose.
This is group consciousness, a collective intention that is thicker than fear, stronger than oppression, and capable of transforming the world.
Tomorrow we gather as a community, as healers, as students, as teachers, as South Africans who refuse to look away. We are ready to pool our energy into a single message that echoes across every realm. This darkness will end. The light is already coming.
For those who are able to join us, we will see you tomorrow 💜For those who cannot, if your intention is with us, your contribution is already felt.
