Preggy mommies, please join and get support through your pregnancy journey

👂🏾Pregnant women and mothers, listen up, you are not alone on your pregnancy or parenting journey. All you have to do is register on for support throughout your pregnancy journey.

📄To get tips on what to do during pregnancy and where to access antenatal care, simply dial this number *134*550*2 # on your cellphone or send the word “Join” to the MomConnect WhatsApp line here: 079 631 2456.

To ensure a smooth pregnancy journey, sign up now to receive nutrition tips, infant care advice, and reminders for your clinic check-ups.

🟨 For first-time moms, this is how MomConnect works:
🟨 A nurse confirms pregnancy at a clinic and gives the mom a clinic code.
🟨 Please send the word “Join” on WhatsApp or use the USSD code.
🟨 Answer a few simple questions about your pregnancy.
🟨 Then, you will be registered on MomConnect, and your pregnancy will be recorded in the national database.
🟨 The registered mom will receive weekly WhatsApp messages or SMS’s through her pregnancy and the first years of the baby’s life.

The Child Support Grant...

Listen up, mommy! We know times are tough and jobs are scarce.

If you are not working or do not earn enough money every month to buy your baby clothes and other important items, you may qualify for the CHILD SUPPORT GRANT (CSG). If you do qualify, you can get the child support grant from when your baby is born.

You must get it as early as possible, as this will help support the baby’s development.

These are the things you need to bring when going to apply for a child support grant at your nearest SASSA centre:

🪪Your ID card
📃Your Child’s Birth Certificate. Remember, you must register your baby's birth before they turn one month old.
📄A police affidavit that states that you are unemployed or do not earn enough money.

Please remember that only the caregiver who stays with the child will be allowed to apply for the Child Support Grant.
