Barrier first. Always.
Rosacea-prone skin doesn’t need more actives - it needs support.
• Minimise friction and over-stimulation.
Pat skin dry. Skip scrubs, acids, and aggressive treatments that disrupt an already fragile barrier.
• Cleanse with intention.
Choose low-foam, pH-balanced cleansers formulated specifically for reactive, rosacea-prone skin.
• Moisturise with purpose.
Barrier-repair lipids like ceramides and squalene help reduce transepidermal water loss and calm chronic sensitivity.
• Use inflammation-modulating actives - sparingly.
Low-dose niacinamide (~5%) and azelaic acid are evidence-based options for reducing redness and vascular reactivity.
• Support hydration at a deeper level, when clinically indicated.
Targeted hyaluronic acid placement can improve hydration and barrier function by restoring the extracellular environment.
(This is a clinical adjunct - not a daily skincare step.)
Rosacea isn’t about doing more.
It’s about doing less - correctly.
