✅ 4 Rules of Firearm Safety:

1. Keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction: 🔫
• A safe direction is one where an accidental discharge would not cause injury or damage.
• This is particularly important when loading, unloading, or handling a firearm.
• Never point a firearm at anything you do not intend to shoot.

2. Treat every firearm as loaded: 💥
• This means always assuming a firearm is loaded, even if you think it's not, and handling it with the same caution you would a loaded gun.
• Always double-check the chamber and magazine to ensure they are clear of ammunition before handling a firearm.

3. Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire: ☝️
• Your trigger finger should be kept straight and outside the trigger guard until you are on target and have made the conscious decision to fire.
• This prevents accidental discharges caused by unintentional movement or contact with the trigger.

4. Be sure of your target and what is beyond it: 🎯
• Identify your target beyond any doubt.
• Ensure that your shot will not endanger anyone or anything beyond your intended target.
• Consider the potential for ricochets and make sure your backstop is adequate.
