Featherbrooke Optometrist

Featherbrooke Optometrist Featherbrooke Optometrist opened its doors in 2003. Spectacles are not always the answer to your eye fatigue, headaches and eyestrain.

We pride ourselves in our customer service and high quality optometric consultations and carefully selected frames and sunglasses. We have introduced punctum occlusion (a procedure to help reduce dry eye), foreign body removal (for those unexpected accidents) and binocular vision consultations (here we assess the ability of the eyes to work together. Vision Therapy is advised in these cases). Our consultations takes up to 1 hour depending on your vision needs and includes a photo of the retina (for early detection of any underlying eye disease).

Cataract Awareness Month is observed every June to raise awareness about cataracts — a common eye condition that causes clouding of the lens, leading to vision loss. It highlights the importance of early detection, regular eye exams, and treatment options like cataract surgery, which can restore clear vision. The campaign encourages people, especially those over 60, to prioritize their eye health.

Did you know your favorite pair of sunnies does more than just protect your eyes from the sun? 😎 Wearing sunglasses can actually help prevent wrinkles around your eyes! ☀️🕶️

UV rays cause premature aging, especially in the delicate skin around your eyes. When you squint in bright sunlight, it creates fine lines and crow’s feet over time. Sunglasses reduce squinting and block harmful UV rays—helping you keep that smooth, youthful look for longer. 💁‍♀️💫

Protect your eyes and your skin—don't forget your sunglasses before heading out!

👁️ What does 20/20 vision really mean?
You’ve probably heard the term, but here’s what it actually means:

If you have 20/20 vision, you can see clearly at 20 feet what a person with normal vision should see at that distance. It's a measure of sharpness—not perfect vision! 👓

You can still have 20/20 and need glasses for reading, night driving, or screen glare.

🧠 Vision is more than just clarity—it’s comfort, focus, and eye health too!

📅 Book your eye test today and make sure your vision is still on point.
