A heart-felt β€οΈπŸ’šπŸ©΅thanks goes out to our Chairman and Netwise Multimedia, for bringing our new site to life. πŸ΄πŸŽπŸ¦„

Through our Equine Facilitated Therapy and Learning programmes, we empower and educate people with disabilities and disadvantages, assist with minimising barriers to opportunities in mainstream society, and improve quality of life across all spheres that we work in.

A sincere thank you to the HHCU team for an invitation to view and consider two of their horses for adoption.
We have been looking for suitable horses to join our therapy team and the invitation was perfectly timed!

Except, as we drove through their gate, one pretty mare immediately caught my eye.
As Inspector Ashley greeted us, she said there is one more that may be suitable... It was exactly the horse that stood out to me on arrival!

Thank you to the volunteers, new and (dare I call them) old, who attended volunteer training, last Thursday and today.

There is a lot of information that is shared during training, and the items covered in training are likely to become much clearer when assisting in actual riding therapy lessons.

Always be open to learning more, in every sphere of your life.
There is a "take-away" message in each learning: a piece of information that sticks with you and adds to your understanding.

There are so many possibilities ahead for the youngsters we assist.

Here's hoping that those who got some of their mobility foundation at The Earth Centre achieve these sorts of goals!

Therapy riding instructors are special people.
Sad to lose such a valuable lady with a lifetime of experience.

For instructors with Eqasa Module 4, The Earth Centre offers mentoring in Gauteng to log practical teaching hours towards your SARDA therapy riding instructor course.

We have reached the end of Term 1 for 2026 and would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to our volunteers this year!
You know we can't offer the young riders the therapy that we do, without your help!

A message received from one of our Term 1 Schools:

"Thank you for informing us and for the support and care you have given our learners during the riding program in Term 1. We truly appreciate the time and effort your team has invested in helping our learners develop and enjoy the riding therapy sessions.
Although we are saddened that the learners will not be able to continue with the riding lessons in Term 2, we completely understand the challenges regarding the shortage of instructors and horses.
Please keep us informed when the program becomes available for our school again, as our learners have greatly benefited from and enjoyed the experience.
Thank you once again to you and your team for your dedication and support."

The Earth Centre assists many learners with Down Syndrome.

Those with Down Syndrome can experience instability between the skull and the first two vertabrae of the neck.

We insist upon a normal neck x-ray to ensure the riders are safe.

A mention in the local newspaper is great for creating awareness of what we do and highlighting just how much our volunteers mean to us!

At the centre, horses are more than just companions, and the volunteers ensure that children can ride safely while gaining both physical and emotional benefits.
