Your health is one of the most precious gifts you have. This month is a gentle reminder to truly listen to your body, prioritise regular check-ups, and never brush off the quiet signs that could mean something more.
As women, we often care deeply for those around us—but it’s just as important to care for ourselves. Tuning in to your own well-being is an act of strength, love, and wisdom. Your loved ones—and your future self—will thank you for it.
Let’s keep the conversation going. Let’s break the silence around women’s health, support one another, and make space for early detection, knowledge, and empowerment to be part of every woman’s journey. 🎀

Fibroid Awareness Month is so important. By raising awareness about fibroids, we can help break the stigma and encourage open conversations about women’s health.

1. What are Fibroids?
Fibroids are non-cancerous growths that develop in the uterus. They are made up of muscle and fibrous tissue. While they can vary in size and location, most fibroids don’t cause symptoms or pose serious health risks.

2. Who Gets Fibroids?
Fibroids can affect women of all ages, but they are most common in women of reproductive age. Factors such as hormonal imbalances, family history, and ethnicity can contribute to their development.

3. Signs and Symptoms
Many women with fibroids don’t experience any symptoms. However, if symptoms do occur, they may include heavy or prolonged menstrual periods, pelvic pain or pressure, frequent urination, or difficulty getting pregnant. Remember, symptoms can vary from person to person.

4. Diagnosis and Treatment
If you suspect you have fibroids or experience concerning symptoms, it’s important to consult with a gynaecologist. They will conduct a thorough evaluation, which may include a pelvic exam, ultrasound, or other imaging tests. Treatment options range from medication and non-invasive procedures to surgical interventions, depending on the severity of symptoms and your reproductive goals.

5. Lifestyle Management
While you can’t prevent fibroids, certain lifestyle choices may help manage symptoms and promote overall well-being. Maintaining a healthy weight, regular exercise, and managing stress can potentially have a positive impact.
6. Empower Yourself with Knowledge
Understanding your own body is empowering. Let’s support each other in seeking knowledge and exploring available options for managing fibroids. Together, we can create a community that stands strong and informed!
