Dr. Joanita Olivier • Voorligtingsielkundige • Counselling Psychologist I am a registered counselling psychologist practicing in Rustenburg, North-West Province. We are accredited with all medical aids.

I have a keen interest in positive psychology and therapy with adults, adolescents and children. I specialize in Narrative Therapy and also thoroughly enjoy psychometric assessments. The practice has two legs: EAP services to large companies in the Rustenburg area and private work. The EAP service is built on four pillars: emotional wellness, physical wellness, legal wellness and financial wellnes

s. It is a free service for employees of participating organisations and their direct dependents. In my private practice I offer a variety of services, including psychotherapy, marriage counselling, career counselling and assessment, parental guidance and support, scholastic evaluations (including school readiness assessments and psychometric evaluations with regards to scholastic / learning problems and attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder). My approach to therapy aims to be short-term (1-8 sessions), empowering and customized according to each client 's needs and circumstances. Fees are charged per hour consultation, at standard rates recommended by the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF). We offer two payment options:
• Option 1: Cash payment per consultation at a discounted cash rate
• Option 2: The practice claims directly from your medical aid at standard BHF rates

Hierdie was so ‘n groot voorreg én belangrike gesprek. En nog ‘n groter lekkerte was om die verhoog saam met my man te kon deel. Dankie Laerskool Proteapark vir die fantastiese werk wat julle doen. ‘n Mossie het die eerste keer op my skouer kom sit aan die onseker oewer van ‘n Jordaanrivier wat ons moes oorkruis.

Sedertdien het ek onthou-mossies versamel. Gedenk-mossies. Belofte-mossies.

Vir ander sal hierdie vaal-geveerde seker altyd bloot ‘n niksseggende mossie bly, maar vir my is dit ‘n konstante herinnering dat die Here van Abraham, Moses en Joshua altyd voorsien. ‘n Herinnering dat Hy steeds ons voete droog hou as ons die waters moet oorkruis. ‘n Herinnering dat Hy ‘n pad kan maak waar daar nie een is nie. (Terloops - ek d**k Hy spesialiseer in onbegaanbare paaie).

Ek weet nie waar jy in jou rivierloop trek nie, maar vanaand het ek ‘n behoefte om vir jou ‘n onthou-mossie te bring. ‘n Gedenkmossie. ‘n Nikswerd mossie, met sy belofte van onskatbare waarde: YHWH Yireh.

Ek bid dat jou kinders in die toekoms sal vra: “Wat beteken hierdie mossie?” Waarop jy met ‘n weet-wat-wéét sal kan antwoord: die God van die heelal maak steeds vir my en jou wonderbaarlike waterkruisings moontlik.

Mag Jesus jou oë met modder en spoeg kom smeer, sodat jy nie een mossie of droeë tree op jou pad miskyk nie. Mag jy jou eie gedenkmossie versameling begin. En mag jy ook iewers langs jou pad vir ‘n ander ‘n onthou-mossie skenk.

A desperate mom recently came seeking answers about her 13-month-old daughter, who is still breastfed and co-sleeps.

They struggle to get her to eat. The mom explained that when they try to feed her, she takes 1 or 2 bites and then pushes the spoon away. If they persist, their daughter simply spits out the food or starts screaming.

A doctor recently suggested moving her to her own room and stopping nighttime breastfeeding, with only dad giving her water when she wakes.

The mom explained that she is feeling hopeless. She is unsure about this advice and seeks advice on toddler feeding and whether to sleep train their daughter and move her out completely.

These are such great, relevant questions. And I’ve got such great, relevant answers. Does your kid’s lying send you into a flat spin? Does it make you think of your kid as bad, disrespectful, or out of control? Uncomfortable truth: lying is 100% parent-generated! (I hear your exasperated gasps from the other side of the screen).
