If you ever thought art can't bring you messages, you'd be wrong...
I've had this journal since 2023 and for a while I've wanted to make it a cover as magical as its entries. I painted it black and that's as far as I'd gotten.
After a dotting class, I decided to give it a go and dot a mandala on it.
I've taken 1 class, I can do this surely, and it's okay if I mess up because I can wipe up the paint and dot again. It's okay.
Dotting the mandala was nourishing for my soul and when I finished, I realised I had to spruce up the black.
My dot teacher suggested black dots and I thought it was genius so I went with it.
While dotting the black, I'm already envisioning how cool this is.
I finished, went to bed, and realised the dots dry MATTE. This is probably NOT going to work.
I check the next morning and I'm like yeah this was dumb, the black dots are invisible. I'm disappointed AF!
I go to bed to meditate and write in my journal. The light catches on it and I notice the spots. I start playing with it in the light and I fall in love. The black dots have become like a panther's coat!
And it's a little like life.
You try things, and expect it to go a certain way.
It doesn't, you think this is kak, and you're disappointed as hell.
Sometimes things don't work out at all, and other times they turn out a little better, reminding you to just chill out, and trust the process.
Trust the process they say.
Easier said than done at times, but worth it yes? Definitely!
